چکیده
In this work we investigate the nonperturbative decay dynamics of a quantum emitter coupled to composite right/left handed transmission line (CRLH-TL). Our theory captures contributions from different spectral features waveguide, providing an accurate prediction beyond weak coupling regime, and illustrating multiple possibilities offered by nontrivial dispersion metamaterial waveguides. We show that waveguide is characterized band-gap with two asymmetric edges: (i) mu-near-zero (MNZ) band edge, where spontaneous emission inhibited unstable pole smoothly transformed into bound state, (ii) epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) rate diverges real (bound state) poles coexist. both cases, branch cut singularities contribute fractional whose nature depend on properties band-edges.

Eutectic epsilon-near-zero metamaterial terahertz waveguides.
We present and analyze the unique phenomena of enhanced THz transmission through a subwavelength LiF dielectric rod lattice embedded in an epsilon-near-zero KCl host. Our experimental results in combination with theoretical calculations show that subwavelength waveguiding of terahertz radiation is achieved within an alkali-halide eutectic metamaterial as result of the coupling of Mie-resonance ...

Hyperbolic metamaterials comprised of an array of plasmonic nanorods provide a unique platform for designing optical sensors and integrating nonlinear and active nanophotonic functionalities. In this work, the waveguiding properties and mode structure of planar anisotropic metamaterial waveguides are characterized experimentally and theoretically. While ordinary modes are the typical guided mod...

متن کاملSpontaneous decay rates in one-dimensional waveguides
It is well-known that the spontaneous decay rates of emitting sources such as atoms or quantum wells can be largely modified in optical micro-cavities. − 4 Controlled spontaneous-emission plays a key role in a new generation of micro and nano-optical devices. Highperformance micro-cavity lasers, for instance, have been already experimentally demonstrated. 6 Spontaneous decay rates modifications...

We present a new method of measuring the guided, radiated, and total decay rates in uniform waveguides. It is also shown theoretically that large modifications of the total decay rate can be achieved in realistic erbium-doped fiber amplifiers and erbium-doped waveguide amplifiers with effective mode area radii smaller than approximately 1 microm.
